Plains of Busai, Book Four
INTRODUCTION
All the land was owned by the Swod
of Nine
For as long ago as anyone can remember
The battles were fierce and many
Women fought and one day became Eight Swod instead of Nine.
Later mourning the loss of their sisters
The Swod of Eight made a ruler from their own.
Warriors to ensure the strength of them all
Protect and save frey and keep the lives of the sisters.
Cleo is my mother and leader of the Breti
Powerful and determined, she has a vision of the future
And so women listened; most stopped the hunt on the plains
Successful we are, the other Sword cautiously study the Breti.
I believe we brought a better life for our people and I joined my mother.
Fear of change was replaced by envy and a few were displeased:
Kale, of the Busai, leader of the Swod of Eight, is the one I carefully
watch.
“Not the woman to fear,” says my mother.
Now I return to my work: making nomadic trinkets to catch the eye of
Treaslok,
Because my village is near to them, we can trade for good things
I can use them to better the future of our people. I wonder,
wonder what I can find useful in tomorrow’s trading with the Treaslok?
